Flash Fiction Friday #9
“Dot and Boy”
Inspired by the little dog from the board book “Each Peach Pear Plum, by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, here is my micro-story for two of the littlest characters.
Dorothy, known as Dot,
Was a tiny, misunderstood dog.
She blew raspberries at everyone for fun,
But they just found it odd.
One day she befriended a tiny,
Misunderstood little boy.
Who wore a uniform with a hat,
And blue trousers in corduroy.
Now that they are a pair, they’re
Invited to things like picnics.
No longer misunderstood, they
Make sense as each other’s sidekicks.
